In the following we would like to call our partners’ attention the tender opportunities of Széchenyi 2020 which supports the energy modernization of local governments.

The Hungarian Government set the goal that by 2020 t will increase the proportion of renewable energy to 14.65 % within the entire gross energy consumption (the EU’s goal is 20%). The Regional and Municipal Development Operative Program (hereinafter TOP) fits to these goals, and has a priority to target the energy efficiency and renewable energy consumption of local governments, which directly contributes to the achievement of the EU 2020 goals.

In accordance with Government Decree No 1811/2015. (XI.10.), in the framework of TOP as soon as this year several tender announcements are expected in support of local government energy developments.

In the framework of the TOP – 2.1.2-15 „Green city development” tender, subsidy can be received for the development and modernization of modern, energy efficient street lighting.

In the framework of the TOP – 3.2.1-15 tender applications will be accepted for „the energy modernization of local government buildings”, and the TOP – 3.2.2-15 tender will be announced under the title „complex development programs for the implementation of energy supply aimed at the exploitation of renewable energy sources fitting into the local environment”.

In harmony with the contents of Hungarian development documents, the subsidy may be received for developments serving the energy efficiency, energy savings and the increasing of the proportion of renewable energy consumption and the reduction of the CO2 emission that can be associated with buildings, properties, infrastructural facilities in the ownership or operation of local governments.

In the case of TOP tender announcements so-called region specific information is important, which are different in each county. Among other thigs, this information determines the deadline and method of tender submissions, as well as the amount of subsidy receivable for each project.

The County Integrated Regional Programs (hereinafter ITP) serve as the basis for the development projects, which are approved by county governments.

It is important that the planned energy developments and modernizations should fit into the framework of the ITP.
